AS I SEE IT: WITH HARRY PEPPER After seeing Sunday evening's hockey contest in Trail I am more convinced than ever of the value of positive thinking. This is one subject that the Junior Warriors are going to have to bone up on if they ever hope to beat the Junior Smokies on Trail ice. . I really think that the easy Saturday night game was a bad thing for our kids. It could be compared to someone feasting themselves at a free smorgasbord and then having to go out and fight to get their next meal. I would suggest that had they bad to battle a team like Cranbrook in the Saturday fixture instead of a bunch of patsies like the Spokane crew they would have know better what to expect. This year's Trail entry is not as strong as last year's team and I think the Rossland crew is stronger. But when playing against a hard-driving crew, which is something all Roy Casler-coached teams are, you have to have all you can muster going for you and the Warriors didn't look like they bad too much of anything going for them. The missed chances were terrible and when a young goalie makes 46 saves plus two from bis own players you just know that things are not going right. This is not intended as criticism of any one player, coach or executive member, rather I would like to speak my mind as a hockey fan who hates to see two evenly matched teams play a game in which one has a psychological advantave over the other, and I'm sure this was the case on Sunday. Trail had that game won before they stepped on the ice, so you see what I mean by the value of positive thinking. A team will never do a job with negative thoughts.
