The Rebels squeaked by the Border Bruins 6-5 in overtime. : A close-checking hard-hitting game started in the first period and didn’t let loose until the 6:36 mark of \the~ overtime period. Fast action was enjoyed before a full crowd. The Rebels led, after the first period by a score of 2-1. Goals came from Rod Horkoff.and Kelly Hurd. Ken Hoodicoff ended the period with a score of 4-2 when he took advantage of a powerplay goal. Even though the third period saw the Rebels outshooting the Border Bruins 18-11, the scoreboard showed different. The determined Grand Forks team scored three goals to Castlegar's one. Scoring the only Rebel marker was Travis Green: Green once again won his own faceoff, picked up the dose puck and tossed it into the net. Scoring for the Rebels were Hurd, Horkoff and Wayne Salekin. The second period ended in’a scord’of. 5-4 in favor of the Rebels. The third period kept the Rebel fans on the edge of their seats. The aggressive Warriors tied up the game with just two minutes.into the third period. Nice passing skills of the Rebels saw Dave Terhune pull the team ahead as he fired a low shot from the slot into the net. The determination of the Rebels had to be proven late in the period, as they received a five-minute major after an altercation with the Rebel goalie took place. This left the i with a as the Rebels were already serving a penalty. The quick-reactions of Rebel goaltender, Nick Colvin, was shown when he came up with a key pad save. This gave the Rebels the boost they needed as they went on to win the game 7-6. The Rebels played the full game with just two lines due to exams and injuries. ..
