And RDCK’'s position is it should have a Say in any future land use decisions. In a letter to the RDCK, West Kootenay MP and Reform Party transportation critic Jim Gouk said he would offer his services to help the two bodies come to an understanding. Gouk stressed he would not take sides, but would act as a facilitator and help out with the ownership transfer any- way he could, If current relations remain cool, the City of Nelson may step in, warned the RDCK director who represents that city. Gerald Rotering said the City of Nelson originally owned the airport land and convenants may exist which would revert the land back to Nelson if it’s not used by the fed- eral government. However, Rotering cautioned the action was only a possibility as he did not have exact information regarding the convenants.
