It 1s expected. to arrive every day, and will be put into position as soon as it arrives, the foun- dations being in readiness for it. ‘ The complete plant will have a'12-drill capacity when all set up. complete, The power for the plant is furnished by the Kootenay Power & Light Co. The motor was supplied by the’ Royal Electric Company, of Montreal, with H. O. Hinton as superintendent and weat- ern agent, and consists of a big synchro- nus motor of a-voltage of: 75 Kilowatt, ‘| which is about equal to "110 horae powee in ordinary terms. There is also an in- duc ion motor of 5-ho.s power capacityg used for starting the machinery, and a | small exciter forthe big, motor, and" a watgr. re-atart., There are six trans- : | formérs of different types-in the. phan aa well, one for lights, three for srarters) : and two for aging. There is a plant of similar. system in Kaslo which operates the city light wo.ks th-re. The compressor was not connected gp — today with the electric plant, and will not be for'a few days yet. Aa it is the - intention to let the moter plant run by. itself for a few days until the bearings are all smooth and in perfect order, #0 that when once the air is attached there will be no stops or delays, or interfer- ence in the constant supply of air for the drills. The machinery was running as smooth aaa top today ever since the atart was made, and H.C. Hinton, under whose direction it was installed, on - behalf of * the Royal Electric company, formally. turned ever the plant to Sam Hall, the superintendant of the mine, The mine management ia highly pleased and de- lighted with the formal trial of the new plant, and special agent. Hinton also ex- pressed his gratification at the very auc- cessful today. The second half of the. compressor is on the way-here now and will be ine stalled as coor as it arrives, giving ihe full 12 drill capacity to the plant.
