10 CASTLEGAR NEWS, Thursday, Aug. 30,. 1962 Protest Beer Ads, TV Service. Dear Sir: I would like to make a sug- gestion .regarding your ads for beer, ‘°° Now 1 am not against drinking in moderation, but 1 think that it is a shame to take up so much space in’ such a useless advertise- ment which takes up about six inches by 13 inches of space. Could that, Mr. Editor, not be replaced let's say by a more sen- sible ad which has a bit of humor in it like Hazel or Blondie and dagwood?. Something like | that which» adults and children are bound to get a kick out of. Now these ads- (beer ads) people who drink don’t need ads and people..who don’t think it’s just space wasted like myself and many ‘more’ have discussed huge -waste of. space. “0 So, mo hard feelings or any- thing like that. It's a free coun. try and just a suggestion. HOME LOVER, + Deer ‘Park. Editor’s note: No hard feel- circulating in areas that are ser- viced by three, four and even five breweries. Dear Sir: If it Is not too much to ask, I would like space in your valuable Castlegar News regarding tele- vision is Robson and would be thankful for the opportunity © to bring to the people of Robson and District the latest developments of the disgraceful service we are getting. A letter was sent to the De. partment of Transport commis- sioners,.. Elecronic Department, protesting the attitude of the Kin- Gar Video Co. who, it seems, re. fuse to give us better service or even reply.to our protests against this injustice of one channel for the majority of residents and three channels for the remainder, which is no good at all, And.we pay for this $4.50 monthly. Now we have to assume that the Board of Transport’ commis- sioners,' Electronics Department, condones the Kin.Gar Video Co. action in not providing a fair re- turn for our. money. If the protest had come from bip business such as the working man they are not con- cerned.
