Oakes have brought down 800 pounds of beautiful ore from the Niagara mine, near Meyers Falls, says the Spokesman- Review. It is peacock copper, and bears a strong resemblance to the ore frorn the famous hall mines, near Nelson. Mr. Aris and Mr. Oakes will jeave today for the east, taking this ore with them. They will stop at Helena, where a smelter test is being made of 500 pounds of ore from the Niagara.
