Mr. Russell is well-known for his books on wildlife in the Rocky Mountains and for his photography. His books include “Grizzly Country", “Trails of a Wilderness Wanderer" and most recently, “Horns in the High Country.” A picture book, “The High West" is to be published in April of next year. Mr. Russell comments, “if there are any mountain men left alive, I guess I can claim to be one.” He has lived in the Rocky Mountains all his life and has thoroughly explored them in expeditions to Alaska, the Yukon Territory, B.C., Alberta and Idaho.
