The wedding took place on the 28th anniversary of the bride's parents. The couple took their vows in a gazebo decorated with pink roses. Neil Morrison was the officiating clergyman and Steve Eakins of Nanaimo, the bride's brother-in-law, was organist. Musical selections included the traditional Wedding March and If, performed during the signing of the register. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a V-necked gown edged in lace, with lace sleeves ruffled at the wrist, pear! buttons down the back and around the wrist, layers of scalloped ruffles and a satin top with silk ribbons at the waist The train was covered with chantilly lace. Embroidered flowers and pearls adorned the headdress which featured a waist-length veil trimmed with lace. She carried a bouquet of pink lilies with baby roses surrounded by lilies of the valley. The bride's necklace was borrowed from her grand. mother, who wore it at her wedding. Sharon Eakins of Nanaimo, the bride's sister, was matron of honor. She wore a pink chiffon dress with a scoop neck and a flower pattern covering the top part of the dress She carried a bouquet that was a small replica of the bride's. Pino Laurino of Vancouver was best man. A reception was held at Robson Hall which was decorated with white and pink bells, streamers and flowers. The tables featured vases containing single roses. Kathy Nugent, a cousin of the bride, made the three-tiered wedding cake which was decorated with pink roses running down the second tier to the bottom of the cake and covering the cake. Steve Eakins was master of ceremonies and Frank Wiesner, the bride's uncle, proposed the toast to the bridge.
