A number of these cards which were taken out by canvassers have not yet been returned, and without them our records and project are in- complete. Any outstanding cards should be sent to J. F, Killough, or any member of the church committee, as soon as possible. St. David’s is pleased to welcome John Frey to the parish. Conference of the United Church, held early May in Naramata, there were a number of interest groups for people to take in. Some of the topics’ were poverty, the work ethic, ec- ology and family life education. It was interesting to me that the most heavily attended group was on the topic of worship. To me, it was a sign that although our church recognizes such “social! concerns” as poverty and ecology as belong- ing to the concern of Christians, there is a growing sense among us that, all in all, worship summarizes what the Church is , basically all about. Meanwhile, back at REP, one of the best board meetings T've attended was highlighted by an enquiry, by Anglicans and United, as to why our two church traditions worship the way we do. This board meeting has led to a sermon series, begun last Sunday, by both Terry and myself, looking into the why’s and how's of worship. Worship summarizes what the chiireh-is-all-about; Weare on earth to honor God in all we do, and worship seems to sum up this desire to give respect to our Creator. Ald, Ed Mosby, who lives in the same neighborhood, said he hadn’t been asked to sign the letter supporting Joe Van Dungen's application, but he said he would have, had the request been made. In their letter, the neigh- bors say Mr. Van Dungen's nursery will be properly fenced and will be stocked with shrubbery, evergreens, fruit and shade trees “and merchan- dise such as garden tools and peat moss for resale purposes.” The neighbors say it is their understanding that no greenhouses will be erected and commercial use of the property will be confined solely to a nursery.
