cards even before he notified

card says:

was a patient of mine, has
died. The death was due to
(lang cancer, chronic obstruc-
tive lung disease, coronary
heart disease, other tobacco-
related cancer or vascular
disease).

“This person was a (brand)
smoker.

HALIFAX (CP) — If a

VCRs are usually the first
items taken by thieves break-
ing into houses, says the
Halifax police department.

Fortyfour VCRs were
stolen from houses in Halifax
between Nov. 1, 1986 and
Jan. 9 this year, along with
25 televisions, 22 stereos and
19 radios, said Const. Paul
MacDonald.

That's because VCRs are
easy for thieves to get rid of,
says MacDonald. A $600 VCR
will be hawked for $100.

“Thieves will go into bars,
start talking to people and
trying to make the sale,” he
says. “A person will come out
to the car and purchase it
right there.
