H. E. Devlin Says the Verdict on the Coast Is that Nelson Has the Swiftest Players. H. E. Devlin has returned to Rosa- land after playing a series ef games with J,|the Nelson lacrosse team on the coast. He cays that they were treated aplen- didly by all the people over there, and says Victoria aud New Westminster were particularly hospitable. They played at -Vancouver, Victoria, New Westminster and Nanaimo. At Van- couver the game went againat them by a score of 4 to 2. The score at Victoria was 4 to 3 against Nelson, but Mr. Dev- lin eays they got “flim-flammed” ont of the lastirun and 16 minutes’ play. At Nanaime the Nelson team won’ by a score of 5 to 4, but at New Westminster they got swept off the earth by a score of - 9 to nothing. The Nelsons had already played three games within week and were not in good conditlon, Mr. Devlin says the general verdict on the coast was that the individual. play- ers of the Nelson team -were swift, bat they lacked practice.
