As soon as his plane landed in Kamloops Mr. Gaglardi went to the Sentinel office, There he stated that the Van- couver Sun story is ‘part of combined forces who said they were going to get him. The coast report states that wages of two workmen on the Calvary Temple were paid by the Bonanza Construction which was building a highway near Revel- stoke. “No construction firm by the name of Bonanza Construction worked for the department of highways,” said Mr, Gaglardi. “Secondly, if any wages were donated to Calvary Temple that was a matter between Calvary Temple and those who donated them. No such arrangements were ever carried out by me. “As minister of highways I am responsible to the people of this province to sec to It that the department of highways is operated so that everyone is treated fairly, and taxpayers interest at all times is main- ed. “Contracts can only be had by bidding on competitive basis, and we. have an established poli- cy that if the low bidder meets the requirements of the contract and the department of finances he must be allowed the job. “Don Cromies’ newspaper has again i t BONANZA CONSTRUCTION Gaglardi Defends Depariment Temple is. organized under the laws of the province of British Columbia, and is incorporated with a board of directors who carry out the business of the church, “My only association is that I am the minister — I receive no salary — nor does my wife — from Calvary Temple and have]: not since I was was made minis- ter of highways. “One of the most discourag- ing things to me — and it takes a lot to discourage me — Is the constant endeavor by my en- einies to implicate wrongdoing in connection with my church. “The congregation of Calvary could discharge me as the min- ister at any time.
