In his report for the
post year, Mr. Cummings sald that
if it were not for the untiring ef-
forts of Scoutmaster Loyd Groutage
“who has done more for the Cubs
land Scouts than any one man should
have to do” thelr activities would
certainly have come to an end. Du-
ring the year the group had lost the
valuable nid of Don Mowbray, who
had been transferred out of town
and Miss LeRoy, who had taken up
residence in Trail.

Contest Winners
Tour CM&S Plant

A group of 15 Elephant Brand
fertilizer dealers from Alberta, Man-
itoba and Saskatchewan — winners
of a sales contest sponsored by
Cominco — were guests of the com-
pany at its Trail operations.

The contest winners were se-
lected from Elephant Brand sales
‘districts in the Prairie provinces
with the selection being based on
sales increnses this year over last
year,

secretary, Mrs, Hartson and to Mrs.
Mike Gallo, treasurer, Both these
Indies put a grent deal of effort and
interest into the activities of the
group committee the past year. He
also paid special tribute to Mr. and
Mrs. Ross Whittaker who have been
active on the group committee for

Tt was understood’ that Mr.
Whittaker, while continuing as
Quartermaster, would step down
from the group committee but it
was hoped that the valuable ex-
perience he possessed would al-
ways be available to the group. A
vote of thanks was extended to all
the ladies who had made their hom-
es available for group meetings dur-~
ing, the past year, and to the Parish
of St. Alban's for the use of the
Church hall, .

The meeting was addressed by
R. Minnlon — president of the Dis-
trict ‘Council Boy Scouts Associa~
tlon — who gave a very interesting
talk on the functions of the As-
sociation and also of the local group
committees. Mr, Minnion said there
was an ‘acute shortage of leaders
the District which was

Gel-Acquainted Tea
Held by Robson WI

The annual Get-Acquainted Tea
of the Robson Women's Institute
was held at the home of Mrs. D.
Gavrilik, with 65 guests attending.
Mrs, J. Scott, president, received
the visitors, :

‘Mrs, Scott introduced the hos-
tess. The rooms were decorated with
bowls of mumis in mixed colors and
green fern. The serving table was
covered with ‘a lace cloth and cen-
tered with a low bowl of mums,
with silver coffee and tea services
at either end.

A get-acquainted game was pla-
yed and winners were Mrs. J. R. C.
MacBain and Mrs. H.R. Matheson:
