Suydam,-#sajne expert and speculator, who arrived’ in this city a few days ago from the Bound- ary country, shot himself in the right temple with a 38-calibre pistol at 9:15 last evening. He had just returned to his reom from the hotel bar where he got a glass of ice water and bade his acquaintances a friendly good night. A few minutes afterward the report. of a pistol in his room-alarmed the roomers and he was found seated in his chair, blood gushing from the wound in his temple and his head hanging on his breast. The bul- Jet came out at the top of his forehead. Coroner Bowes and Dr. Campbell were summoned. Mr. Suydams head was daged and he was d to the hospital. Suydam died at 1:15 o'clock this morning.
