Owner of'a business in New Denver, Marks says he knows what it is’ like to watch the slow decline of +. a community. All of the villages up and down the Slocan need a boost, ‘he says. “We need some industry and a lot of other things only a group of. people in a chamber can get,” marks said. “The high has passed us by. The Cape Horn * has had nothing done to it in years, “We need secondary in- dustry, and through forming a chamber we hope to encourage industry in’ some way.” The chamber-to-be will span the Slocan from New Denver south to Crescent Val- ley, taking in Slocan City and Silverton along the way.
