AOTS For 1959

The Anntal meeting of the
Castlegar <A.O.TS, took place
‘Friday in the basement of the
‘Umited Church, ’

Retiring president L. E.
Cantell chaired the meeting.

. D. Gilroy, Auditor, presented
the Annual report for the past
yeer, showing 19 pald members.

Following adoption of the re-
port, a vote of thanks was ~
ttenfed to Mr. Gilroy by J. E.

: Kraft and L. E. Cantell.

President's report ‘was given

Mr. Cantell, covering activi-
ties of the A.O.T.S in 1958, and
he also wished to thank the mem-
‘bers for their support.

Mr. Cantell then turned the
amveting over to Earl Young of
‘Trail, for installation of he in-
coming officers,

In addressing the meeting
from the chair, the new presid-
ent, Elmer Kraft, expressed his
thanks to the members for the
.trust placed in him in’ electing
him president. He felt that A.O.-

'T.S. “would become a vital force

not only in the Church and com-

munity, but also ‘in the life of
any man who becomes a mem-
ber of this great movement
which is from coast to coast."

It was announced that the
Annual “Ladies Night" would be
held February 13 in the ‘Twin
Rivers Hall.

The meeting adjourned on a

fifteen fires in 1958, with an over-
all fire-loss of $5,034.00, fully
covered by insurance.

There were also six calls for
the inhalator in the period cover-
ed by the report.

Fire Chief Lewis reported an
average of attendance at practices

the far north, depleting eskimo
life and the reindeer’s role in

fishing, that is — this was par-
lcularly interesting to the three
boys.

So far no more work has
been done on-the sunburst mats
as the beads used had to be or-
dered again, and we are still
waiting for them to arrive, In
the meantime, Mrs. Moll~ has
started the students on raffia
hot dish mats. Only a little is
done, but I do believe they are
going to be very pretty and use-
ful too,
