On April 21 Castlegar resident Barbara Dee will be bring her musical concert tribute to the country and western legend at the Fireside Banquet room. Complete with costumes much like Cline wore, Dee will sing Cline’s broken-hearted songs to the accompaniment of a five-piece orchestra. The mix of Dee's chill- ing rendition of Cline’s songs accompanied by an orchestra that ; a of the - is Cline’s back-up band—guarantees a performance that will leave even the most discriminating Cline fans mesmerized. “Barb's as close [to sounding like Cline] as someone can possi- bly get. That's the closest I’ve evér heard,” explained Bob Hutchinson, who plays in the Why Shouldn’t You Have Financial Freedom Too? He's also known for the way in which he and a guitar become one and for his ability to coax a guitar to sing like you've never heard sing before “Bob can play a guitar and get various types of sounds. He could probably make it talk. When he plays guitar it cries. The Jor- danaires had the same feeling,” said Dee. Hutchinson said members of the orchestra have been hand- picked from the Kootenays. “We decided to go with them for musical reasons. Where they shine is where we need them. Their talent speaks for itself.” Members of the orchestra include: Dennis Iachetta, drums and vocals; George Turner, vocals and bass guitar, Hutchin- son on guitar; and John Beck, keyboards and vocals. Put it all together and it will be an evening of Cline country magic. The review will also include a dinner, and Dee is confident that the audience will enjoy the trib- ute as much as other audiences in Las Vegas and Pomona, Califor- nia have enjoyed it. For those who can’t wait until April 21 for the review, it will also be held April 19 at the Columbo Lodge in Trail and April 22 in Nelson at the Capi- tol Theatre.
