The family of Castlegar’s Fred Bonderoff, standing are great-granddaughter Candice Koskoski and grandson Paul Legebokoff. Seated are daughter Grace Legebokoff and Fred Bonderoff. Grace embraces the newest member to the Bonderoff clan, great-great-grandson Mathew Koskoski. CELGAR PULP COMPANY PUBLIC NOTICE On or about Monday, October 12, 1992 and for a period of up to 2 weeks, the Pulp Mill will be commencing to clean new steam lines associated with the Modernization Project. This process involves the intermittent blowing of high pressure steam through various lines to remove foreign materials such as dirt, rust slag, welding rod, etc. Excessive noise can be generated by this process as the steam is exhausted into the atmosphere. We will limit the times of these blows to between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. on weekdays and the length of any single blow should not exceed 20 minutes. We request the indulgence of the Castlegar and Robson residents and any others who may be affected by these disturbances. Everything possible will be done to minimize the effect on the public. @ Saturday, October 10, 1992 Flood to visit Nelson The Kootenay School of Writing opens its fall 1992 season of readings with a vis- it to Nelson by Vancouver writer Cynthia Flood. Cynthia Flood is the author to two books and numberous short stories. Her most recent book is My Father Took a Cake to France, a collection of short stories. The title story of that collection won the prestigious Journey Prize in 1990. Her stories are also included in several Canadian anthologies, and have been produced for broadcast on CBC Radio. Cynthia Flood will read from her works at the Vienna Cafe in Nelson on Oct. 16 at 8 p.m.On Oct. 17 she will lead a workshop, as space is limited. Thank You ‘ CELGAR MODERNIZATION PROJECT IN MEMORY Florence Harshenin On Wednesday, Oct. 7, 1992, Florence Harshenin of Pass Creek passed away at the age of 75 years. Funeral service was held at the Pass Creek Hall on Friday and Saturday with burial at Pass Creek Cemetery. . Mrs. Harshenin was born July 22, 1917 at Verigin, Sask. She married Larry J. Harshenin at Verigin in 1934. She came to Pass Creek in 1941 where she has since resided. Mrs. Harshenin enjoyed her family and was an avid gardener. She is survived by four son and daughters-in-law, John and Marlene of Kelowna, Cyril of Kelowna, Larry and Mary and Joe and Stella of Pass Creek; 12 grand- children; seven great-grandchildren and close friend George Chernoff. She was predeceased by her husband Larry in 1984. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Castlegar Funeral Chapel.
