In the regular competition it was the Primo Secco rink of Trail coming out on top over the Rossland foursome of Jim Schuck. In the seniors consolation event, the · popular rink skipped by Earl Moffat of Nakusp defeated Tim Timbrell of Trail. Rossland rinks reached the fours in both the seniors and the consolation event. Moffat had Gordon Haines, Deke Davis and George Norman on his rink while Timbrell was backed up by Tim Jenkin, Bill Spence and Gordon Laarz. The Beaudry rink will be in Fernie to contest the seniors championship of B.C. while Secco will be in Princeton at the same time, Feb. 1~12. Should they advance, it will be Prince Rupert for the seniors on April 8-12 and Weyburn, Sask., for the juniors March 18-24. The bonspiel was very well handled in all departments. Doug Mcisaac, zone sports chairman, was ably assisted by · Bill Leaman and Al McAulay and there was always food and refreshments in plentiful supply. Our rink never did get off the ground. We tackled Doug Winlaw of Nelson in the first round and lost it by the eighth end. We went all the way against the Jim Leckie rink from Castlegar. After dropping behind 8-1, we made a comeback to tie it up only to lose in the tenth 11-10. On Sunday morning, we fell behind to Ted Leslie of Trail and closed it down in the sixth end. All the games were fun and Cyril Dekuysscher, Bernie Fourt, and Ray Scott are to be congratulated on conducting themselves like real gents under adverse conditions. .While I was otherwise engaged in Trail, the Warriors went out and did «ill Harry Pepper what they had to do, taking a game so well now that I can 3-2 win over Castlegar and take or leave any American coming back on Saturday to football game that's ever wrest a S-1 decision from the played Super Bowl or what Kimberley Knights. They haveyou. ' . now have a .500 record and entertain again this weekend. On Friday, it _will be Nelson and on Saturday they will try to repeat their feat of a week or so back by taking another one from the league-leaders from Spokane. The Super Bowl is now history for another year and it certainly wasn't the sort of a contest that bad one sitting on the edge of- his seat. The only reason it makes big news in this country is because of all the bally-hoo by the news media in the States. Actually it's not near as good football as our Grey Cup. In fact, I like the Canadian nament. I got the news on Monday m oming that the Trail Pee Wees had beaten Rossland in triple overthiie in the f'inal game. what I can hear, it wa(a well-played tourney, which is par for the course. These people always come up '1th a super effort. • Till next week, then! From
