But the players, their par- ents and the team’s coaching staff know that in reality the Bantams are undefeated in the West Kootenay Minor Hockey Association this year. The reason for the discrep- ancy can be traced back to a . misplaced game sheet and a _ misinterpretation of the rules. In the first instance the ‘team representatives, for whatever reason, failed to hand in a game sheet to the WKMHA league office within 72 hours. In the second instance, the Bantams played a game with a player under suspension be- cause they weren’t sure if he was suspended or not. Both incidents were infrac- tions of WKMHA rules and as a result, both games went in the books as Castlegar losses. Further, all points and oth- er personal statistics from the game were never recorded. It’s too bad that that’s-a rule, but that’s the way it is,” said WKMHA president Glen Mailey. “They have to abide by the rules like every other team does,” Mailey said. ““We have to control some 900 games in a season, how are we supposed to control the league if we don’t get this stuff?” They might be the rules, but at least one parent of a player on the team is ques- tioning whether they are good rules. ‘ “It is a sad day for amateur hockey when we punish the kids’ accomplishments for the honest mistake of our amateur and volunteer coaches,” said James R. Ross, in a letter he wrote and sent to the B.C. Am- ateur Hockey Association last week. at any particular coach, but I am pointing a finger at the id- iot rule that would punish the kids with a loss of the game and forfeiture of their stats...,” Ross said. Mailey said he doesn’t make the rules, he is only there to administer them. If Castlegar wants to change the rules, Mailey said they should raise the question general meeting. “I am not pointing a finger News photo by Ed Mills i Bie ie - Probably what a lot of minor hockey is about is parents and kids coming together over a common in- when the Association holds-its~ terest, as was the case at the Community Gemplex-Wednesday with Rob Dunsmore and his s¢ Justin. his son @ Saturday, January 25, 1992 MinorHOCKEYWEEK WEST KOOTENAY MINOR HOCKEY ASSOCIATION BANTAM HOUSE STATS TO JANUARY 22 W L T GFGA PMPT ate 94 67 177.23 9 3 87 59 220 20 4 53 32 207 17 6 54 68 133 9 8 37 54 154 7 1:12 48114 162 2 SCORING LEADERS GP G A PTPM Street, Ryan, B.V. 13 19 20 39 4 - Spavor, BradNak. 14 2017 3724 Paul, Kyle, Na. 14 2412 3661 Carson, Greg,Nak . 2115 27 Cromanty, Jeff, B.V. 12 18 27 Fenton, Heath, Kas. 17 27 Meakes, Rick, B.V. 10 21 Ashman, D.J., R-T 20 0 Sookero, Josh,Cas. 10 19 20 Gillies, Scott, Kas. 1 19 42 Lohmeyer, Jason, .V. 13 19 42 Partridge, Greg, BV. 8 9 18 20 Harper, David, A.T. 9 11 1 1712 Mailey, Steve,B.V. 12 8 1610 Robinson, Steve, R-T1 2 8 16 1 BANTAM REP SCORING LEADERS PTPM Stoochnoff, R. o4 Perrier, M. 20 7 Carlson, M.
