The announcement was made re- cently by Minister of Recrea- tion and Conservation, the Hon. Sam Bawlf. The communities who filed their proposal with Ron Butlin, the managing director of the B.C. Games were: Trail, Nel- son, Kamloops, Kelowna, Kim- berley, North Vancouver and a joint bid by Terrace and Kitimat. Bawlf stated in addition to the seven bids, the City of Vernon has indicated a strong interest to host the 1980 British Columbia Winter Games. Bawlf said the decision as to the successful community will be made by the B.C. Games . Advisory Committee and rec- ommended to him on or before Feb. 15, 1978. The library somehow man- ages to stay in the black from year to year primarily because expenditures are kept to a tainimum, All the work done in the library is volunteered by mem- bers of the community.
