The 1987 program was a great success. It was six weeks long, catering to four differ ent age groups and held the children’s interests through out the summer. Weekly themes included monsters, friends, nature, fairy tales, circus, and bears. Most of the songs, crafts, games. and activities — re- volved around these themes. The children enjoyed such activities as making kites, decorating cookies, making playdough, putting on puppet shows and hunting for trea- sure. Children received prizes for reading 20 books, donated by the south end and down- town Dixie Lees, Dairy Queen and McDonalds.
