UBC men's basketball team coach Bruce Enns was everybody from Clint Eastwood to football star Joe Montana in his entertaining effort to share

his knowledge of the game at a clinic last weekend at Stanley Humphries secondary

While the actors did show up
to play, it was a familiar ending
as the curtain closed last week-
end on the Castlegar Rebels first
shows in the Kootenay Interna-
tional Hockey League season.

The Rebels opened the 1991
campaign with a pair of division-
al losses at the Community Com-
plex.

The first came at the hands of
the Grand Forks Border Bruins
who beat the Rebels 4-3 Friday.

Then former Rebels coach Ed
Cooper made a triumphant re-
turn to the Complex the next
hight as his Nelson Maple Leafs
Beat the Rebels 5-2. *

It was the first regular season
appearance at the Complex for
Cooper, who coached the Rebels

for the past two seasons, and for-
mer Rebels Dale Bonderud and
Stathius Dimopolous, who
moved to the Maple Leafs this

“The Rebels trailed the Border
Bruins 1-0 after the firstand 3-2
after two, setting up a barnburn-
er in the third.

“In the third it almost looked
like a playoff game,” said Grand
Forks coach Sam Skinner.

Kevin Cheveldave, who is still
looking for his first win in the KI-
JHL, wouldn't comment on the
game, apparently still abiding by
