210 Legion elects executive | On Jan. 27, 1992, the Ladies Auxiliary tothe Royal Canadian Legion. Branch No. 170 held its first meeting of the year. One of the first duties of President Justine Buffett was to install Carol Him as Sergeant at Arms, and Alice LeCouffe, Hilda Salmon, Lena Urbani and Dorothy Ashton as members of the executive. The month of January has been very active. The Ladies have been busy catering to the Li- brary, Robbie Burns Night and the Naturalist Society. A Beckton of $50 was made to the Variety Club Telethon. Helen Leduc presented a gift to Past President Kay Bate in recognition ofher . outstanding service during 1991. One of the services the ladies do is visit pa- tients in the hospital. Pearl Zorn made 77 vis- its during the month of January. Shut-in mem- ‘bers are also visited regularly. The monthly noon luncheon was held at the Greek Oven, and enjoyed my members. With installations and appointments com- plete, the ladies Auxiliary is looking forward to a productive year. Hazardous Waste Corporation scheduled a series of “hazardous waste weekends” for our area. The very last of these events is planned for Sunday and Monday, Feb. 9 and 10.
