Adding > tothe authenticity of the Indian ‘Powwow was the campfire real Indian Chief dressed in his Indian headdress. After the skits and sing- song, the chief explained his headdress and made sure each boy had a good: look at it. For a young boy, this day’s activity was surely ‘a fitting introduction into the Scouting life. Needless to say, by the end of the day, there were 325 very, tired but happy boys. Prepared by Tourism Brit- ish Columbia and offered in conjunction with the Kootenay Boundary Chambers of Com- merce, the 10-hour program will concentrate on serving the visitors but will also cover subjects of value to all business- es serving the public. Important subjects that will be covered include: cre- ating a good first impression, getting repeat business, selling the local area, handling com- plaints, improving telephone effectiveness, etc. By utilizing some of the proven techniques that will be taught in the sessions, em- ployees will find more satis- faction in their jobs while em- ~-ployers will be earning more money because their customers will be getting better service.
