Pearl wanted to talk about “my dear friend (Anna - Petrovna'Markova)/and me — in that order please.” We. compromised. We talked about her (early days) and then about Anna Markova. “To begin with, the Androsoffs represent another facet ot the pioneer life of this area; that is, they are members of a first of the Doukhobee faith sho wens born and ralsed in the first B.C. communal villages. They were both born before the First World War in th the now totally vanished community of Champion Creek which once flourished on the flats above the river opposite Genelle. They lived there as children and were eventually married there.
