PREREQUISITE: Second class standing in Mathematics 111B or its equivalent. (3-2-0-3) Mathematics 212B — INTERMEDIATE GEOMETRY Conics and solid analytic geometry. PREREQUISITE: Second class standing in Mathematics 111A. Required course for students majoring or honouring in Mathematics. (3-2-0-3) College Preparatory Mathematics A and B Course designed to prepare student for entrance into either Liberal Arts and Science Programme or Applied Arts and Science Programme. (5-0-0-0) Physics MAJORS AND HONOURS (First two years) Majors First Year — Second class standing in Physics 111B and Mathematics 111B. Pass standing in Chemistry 111B. Second year — Pass standing in Physics 211B, Physics 212B, Mathematics 211B, Mathematics 212B. One other two term course in Science. Honours (Physics only, or Physics combined with another subject.) First Year — Second class standing in Physics 111B, Mathematics 111B, Chemistry 111B. (Note that at least one year of a language other than English is required on the B.SC. Programme.) Second year — Second class standing in Physics 211B, Physics 212B, Mathematics 211B and Mathematics 212B. Pass standing in Chemistry 211B. Students wishing to be recommended for a combined honours in Physics and Chemistry must obtain a second class standing in Chemistry 211B and 212B in the second year. Special Note: ADVANCED STANDING IN PHYSICS Students having completed both Physics 11 and 12 (or equivalent), and having obtained excellent marks in each, may apply for advanced placement in Physics 211A and Physics 212A. (Individual tutorials will be given to students in this category.) Students who thus receive credit for this course will be granted credit in Physics 111AB.
