I realize, as a parent, the down- fall of society begins at home, We are to set the example and are given the responsibility of raising our children to the utmost of our ability, but quite, obviously,.a great number of the parents today are shirking these responsibilities. Our children are living in very difficult and trying times and should not have the extra burdens placed upon by our society. I think it is sickening when our children of today are running the country already and are permitted to voice their opinion, before it is asked for. I would like to end this letter in short by seeing how many people in this community are opposed to this type of action which is obviously slip- ping by the ones who should be the most concerned. Stephen Ryback, regional public affairs manager, said the reports were ordered May 12 after some of the initial evi- dence at the inquest into the erash of a Pacific Western Airlines Boeing 737 at Cran- brook in February. The crash, which killed 43 Passengers and crew, came after a landing attempt was aborted. The inquest jury was told that a snowsweeper was on the runway when the plane touched down. Ryback said the order was issued in a directive from the director of air traffic services to air traffic controllers. , _ “What this directive does is to take something that was always assumed to be done as Parts and Accessory Specials TV Antenna $19” One only (used) .. part of good airmanship and make it a mandatory, routine procedure for the pilot to call the airport where he is going.” Testimony at the inquest showed that the PWA jet arrived at the Cranbrook air- port 10 minutes before the ex- pected arrival time radioed by air traffic controllers in Calgary where the flight originated.
