The St. Rita’s C.W.L. and the Castlegar Columbus Club were joint sponsors of a get-acquain- ed card party in the Twin Rivers Hall Friday evening. Purpose of the get together was to give an opportunity to the new priest, Father Trainor, to meet his par- ishioners, Whist was played and refresh- ments were served by the ladie First prize winners were: Mr: Schwartzenhauer and Mr. M. Elects Officers The annual meeting of the Re- nata Women’s Institute was held at the home of Mrs. Peter War- kentin, November 14. Officers for the new year were elected as follows: Mrs. Peter Warkentin, President; Mrs. Isaac Wiebe, vice-president; Mrs. Tom Hunchak, secretary-treasurer; and Mrs. William Hale, Directors, The standing committee mem- bers will be announced at the December meeting. Donations were given to the Xmas school party and the Solarium for crippled children in Victoria. A garden contest was sponsored for the school children; a booth was built for the playground and a Power lawn mower and tool shed was supplied for the cemetery. - Money was raised in groups of four by croquinole tournaments, whist drives, dinners and a shoot- ing contest.
