Any any fears that high unemployment and the lack of any real growth in wages may depress spending and in turn slow recovery have dis- appeared, according to the latest Conference Board of Canada survey of the coun- try’s leading economic fore- casters. “The quarterly survey of Canada’s leading économic sensus among the 19 fore- casters is that real consumer. spending will increase by 2.8 per cent this year,” the board said in a news release today. That is an increase of a full percentage point over the last forecast of 1.8 per cent. ‘, Further, real economic growth, as measured by gross national product, will be 2.9 per cent, up from 2.3 per cent forecast earlier. “Almost without excep- tion, survey respondents be- © lieve the recovery, will stren- gthen considerably in 1964, ‘The. survey: leo shows moet forecasters surveyed by NEW 1983 4X4 rom? 1 170 costs are at their lowest level in years; pre-tax corporate \profits. are improving at a record pace; 283 per cent in the first quarter alone. 7) We need your Recipes for our 4th Annual BS = UNIQUEPET...J ui E Rickott Hake Sommaire T be CORRECTION The Bay w tes to Inform its customers of a> - *~ price: change’in:the Bay Day Flyer, ap- Bee es per.
