Phenomenal Growth Of Credit Union Movement Noted By President At Annual Meoling Of West Kootenay Chapter Of Credit Unions A tremendous growth in the Credit Union Movement in the ‘West Kootenay area, was noted by Albert Ilott, president, at the annual meeting and dinner of the West Kootenay Chapter of Credit Unions, held last week in Trail. In his president's report, Mr. Mott. said the chapter is pres- ently engaged in starting new credit unions at Riondel, Edge- wood and Salmo, He also report- ed that the second annual, school for officers, held at Castlegar on May Ist. under Chapter auspices, ‘was an outstanding success and the district is eagerly looking forward to next year. Mr. Iiott spoke too of the an- for this convention. In speaking of the Chapter's and Credit Union benefits, Mr. INott made particular reference to the phenomenal growth of the CUNA Mutual Insurance Com- pany which in its short life of 18 years, has become,the 36th, rank- ing insurance company in the world. Brought ,into existence through efforts to fit the needs of credit unions and their cent- ral credit union, each letter stands for the first letter of the words “Credit Union Eagles L.A.
