The bride, escorted by her father, wore a white satin gown completely draped with swiss flecked sheer. The ruffled high neck collar lead into a sheer yoke laced with an organza ruffle and was accompanied with sheer prin- cess style sleeves. Gathered at the waist by a satin cumberbund, the full length dress flowed. into three ruffled tiers of organza beginning just below the knee to make a full train. The veil, also made of the flecked sheer, flowed from a dainty ‘princess-like crown. The bride carried a cascade of red roses trimmed with lily- of the valley and small white puffs of sheer. Tammy Travassos, junior bridesmaid and sister of the groom, wore’a sky blue lace dress with matching white accessories and carried a basket of white daisies. All the dresses, including the bride’s were sewn by Maria Travassos, mother of the groom. The groom wore a navy ducktail tuxedo with a red rose and lily of ‘the valley boutineer. Randy Arlitt, bro- ther of the bride, served as best man and Raili Baum also served as witness. The informal reception was also held at the bride’s home with Alfred Baum toasting the bride. After cutting part .of the three-layer wedding cake decorated with roses, the bride slipped into a red and’ white sailor dress to conclude the event. The newlyweds will reside in Castlegar for the summer and resume residence in Victoria to continue their schooling in September. Plans finalized for fall fair The Robson Women’s In- stitute held a busy special meeting at the home of Jean Lloyd, where all the mem- bers attended. Plans were finalized for the __' Robson fall Fair on Sept. 7 at Robson Hall. It starts at 10 a.m. and lunch and refresh- ments will be available. En- try forms, available at Kel Print, Johnny's Grocery and West's Department Store. Members agreed to hold monthly craft classes at Robson Church Hall every fourth Wednesday evening of the month starting in Sep- tember. Information on these sessions can be obtained from any WI member or. by phoning Ivy at 365-5371. The Robson WI will again sponsor the craft fair Nov. 29 and 30 in the Robson Hall. The bride is the only daughter of Ellwood and Gerry Grunerud and the groom is the only son of Julia Gretchen. e Rev. Ted Bristow per- formed the ceremony ‘in which the vows were written by the bride and groom. ~Lori Tomlin, a niece of the groom, read the Russian psalm, Be Devout. Rudy Baff was the organist and played Jesus, Joy of Man's Desiring during the- signing of the register, and the Wedding March as the couple exited as husband and ~ wife. The church was decorated with two white basket: ar- rangements of white gladio- las, pink and burgundy roses, and greenery tied with a large pink ribbon. Given in marriage by her -father, the bride entered the church as the Bridal Chorus -was played. She was beautiful in her mother's wedding dress -which was a floor-length gown of white satin with full hoop skirt over which was an overskirt of net featuring scalloped- insets-of-cbantilly. —? lace. A bolero jacket with lily- point sleeves and Peter Pan collar trimmed with sequins and seed pearls complement- ed the dress. An added touch was a cathedral-length train, made by the bride and her mother, of chantilly lace and net trimmed with lace to match the gown. Completing the bridal en- semble was her mother's finger tip veil of illusion net, held in place by a tiara~ of imitation flowers and seed pearls made by the bride. For her jewelry, the bride wore pearl. and diamond earrings, a gift from the groom, ‘and her_ paternal grandmother's white gold -wedding band, which she wore on her right hand. She carried a cascading bouquet of pink and~ bur- gundy roses, accented with white sweetheart roses, ivy and baby’s breath, Following tradition, some- thing old was the bride's mother’s dress, something new was her train, something borrowed was her .mother's shoes and something blue was her grandmother's hanky, worn overlapping her garter of pink satin ribbon and lace, ‘which, the bride made herself. — Matron. of honor Joyce Aker, a friend of the bride from Creston, and _brides- maid Maryanne Grunerud of Castlegar, sister-in-law of the bride, wore ~identical full- length pastel pink gowns. The blouson cape-like bod- ice was designed with a sheer overlay that gathered at the shoulders and tried at the waist. Both attendants wore cres- cents of pink flowers in their hair and fingerless "lace gloves which matched the bride's train lace, and carried small bouquets, similar to the bride's, which were enhanced with a pink tulle: eee Emma. Davis, neighbor of the bride, was flower girl and wore a pink dotted Swiss gown trimmed with lace. The gown was d by the MR. AND MRS. BOB GRETCHEN the bride, which matched the flower girl's dress and was adorned with two white rib- bons securing the two gold rings. Terry Makaroff, a friend of the groom from Sparwood, was best man. Ed Argatoff of. Shoreacres was groomsman, and assisting in ushering duties was the bride's oldest brother, Cal Grunerud of Castlegar. ‘The groom, the best man and the groomsman all wore identical grey tuxedos with g tip collars and ascot ties. The groom's boutonniere was a white carnation with a~ pink sweetheart rose in the centre.-The_ groomsmen and ringbearer wore pink sweet" heart rose boutonnieres. The reception was held at _ double ring ceremony Castlegar's Fireside Inn, which was decorated with pink and white streamers, bells and flowers. Pink and white carnations decorated the tables. “~ The wedding .cake was three-tiers of friendship cake, made by the bride’s mother and decorated by the groom's aunt, Shirley Gretchen. The cake was decorated with light -and dark pink roses in cascades, with liq- ueur glasses separating the tiers and bells accenting the glasses. It was topped with a bridal copule under an arch- way.
