Now, as Lloyd leaves the post as director, I would like to emphasize that Rossland can be grateful to him for his contribution to the boosting of our recreation facilities. As I ~- - ~ - -- LL Leagues in all sports were spawning grounds for a bunch of pub crawlers and the like. I couldn't agree more. I have spent quite a lot of time with the guys who make up the bulk of these leagues. Sure, they are a fun-loving bunch of guys who don't see anything wrong in enjoying · themselves in any . way whatever so long as they are not hurting someone else by doing it. Two of the premier sports attractions in our town are sponsored by this group of young men and it can now be seen that not all the proceeds of these efforts go to be spent on riotous living. While not too many of these young · fellers will ever aspire to hold high political office or council seats, they are pretty well all good solid citizens to whom the maintenance of their young families and the upholding of the good friendly atmosphere of our town comes first and foremost.
