O’Brien Reddin should take a re- quisition around for signatures and thereby ascertain what chances he would have of election. A good idea. Weare informed that a dele- gation has tried to induce him to withdraw. A good idea. The presumptious “four” who are held responsible for the nomin- ation of a ticket for alderman, will probably have to rustle some one to take John R. Cook’s place on the'ticket, as the secretary of the committee says he declines posi- tively to be a candidate. A telegram from Premier Turner to A. H. McNeil says the letters patent for the incorporation of Rossland will issue next Wednts- day, March 17. So it is to be hoped there will be no further de- lay in fixing the date of election and p ding with the tion of a municipal government. The snowfall which -has been nearly every day for the past two weeks will probably continue until after the 2Ist of the month when it is more than likely the ‘spring thaw will set in. There is more snow in the mountains now than at this time of the year for the past three winters. ft Nothing could be more bright and promising’ than the present outlook for the mines in the im- mediate vicinity of Rossland. Every shaft that is being aunk or tunnel driven on the ledge is showing up the property well, If the develop- ment work continues this season to improve the mines as ithas in the past twelve months there is no estimating the results. Unless some mishap befalls the camp, which is nut probable, there will be 20,000 people in Rossland before the season is over. W. H. BELL, A CANDIDATE. One Hnndred Voters Present Him a Requisition. The following requisition has been presented to W. H. Bell, who is a large helder of Rossland real estate and mining property in this vicinity: To W. H. Bell, Rossland, Lb, C We the undersigned citizens of Rossland, recognizing the necessity of having for our tirst aldermen wise, judicious and impartial citizens, and belioving you cembine all these essentials, beg yuu to allow your name to be placed in nomination as such.
