He played very well under pressure, more like there was no pressure.” Two of this year’s golfers are returning to play for the SHSS team next season. Marty Carew and Todd Bonderoff will be the backbone of next years squad, but “with the upcoming golfers we will have another strong team next year,” Lunn said. The overall winner of the provincial tourney was Semiah- moo Secondary School from Sur- rey followed by Kelowna and South Delta fine form the hammer throw. Other qualifiers for the provincial competition from SHSS were: Shawn Horcoff, who strolled across the finish line second, in the 2,000m race walk; Wendy Closkey was first in the 1,500m race walk; Averil Sheppard placed third in the 400m hurdles; and Greg Ehman was second in the 1,500m. Stanley Humphries is sending one 4X100m relay team to the Burnaby meet, made up of: Wendy Closkey; Tana Terry; Marie Soderlund, and; Lisa Datchkoff.
