:J -.r.. . l EPPJALK By the time that you read this a decision will have been reached by the directors of the RosslandTrail Country Club on the fee structure for the coming season. On Sunday the Union Hotel meeting room was filled to capacity by retirees and in some cases, their wives, who had come to take part in the discussion. Most felt the new fees are unjust! The fee proposals were all spelled out to the club directors, Jack Buchanan and 1.eke Clements. The one section that bothered us the most was raising the retiree couple rate by $114 to $544 or 26.5 per cenl The retiree single was raised 11.7 per cent from $290 to $324. In the five years since 1981 dues for these two classes have been raised 75.9 per cent and 50 per cent respectively. We were told the club's directors are worried about the fact quite a number of retiree couples use the course on Saturday and Sunday mornings when the regular golders like to get out there on their time off from work. Figures on membership were posted on the board showing 197 regular singles, 70 regular couples, 25 family memberships, 137 retiree singles, 75 retiree couples, 20 restricted singles and one restricted couple for a total carded membership of 525. Add to these 146 for the second member in the couples and a possible 100 more for the family tickets and you come up with about 800 playing members. Now to another subject, the B.C. Heart Fund. Dorothy Gyte, chairperson of the Rossland chapter wished me to pass along the following. Fund officials have designated this Sunday for bingo at the Legion in Rossland to boost a canvass that will start Feb. 14 and continue until Feb. 28. Dorothy asked that during this period people leave their porch lights on to assist the canvassers in finding the way to your Spokane. But the Warriors door and she says a have two toughies at home heartfelt thank you for this against Nelson on Friday and Trail on Saturday. 111's little favor. Now, to the Warriors for not an impossible task but a moment. The team can it will take all the conhelp themselves this centration they c a n weekend and should hope muster. One other thing to for a help from the Rebels consider, Spokane's other who play their final game game is against the Border against the Flames in Bruins who won one of their few victories this season at the Flames' expense. Our retiree curlers had;a good time in Nelson on last week's visitation but only chalked up one winning effort. It went to Angus Popplewell's rink. Our next visitation comes at Grand Forks later in the waning season. ' And with that I'll say, nu next time!
