The Deer Perk is located on the summit of Deer Park mountaw in the sonth Lelt, » mile and a_ half, south west of town, and has probably the largest. mineral deposit in the camp. It is develuped by a shaft 145 feet deep, and 95 feet croea-cut. Its machinery consiata ofa 40-horse boil- er and « 2Qhorse hoist. Supplies are laid in for an all winters work. The great body of ore is low grade, but is reported improving #s depth is gained. SUNSET NO. 2. The present location is much to be pre- fered to the one first selected. The first rally of Mr. Scott’s supporters will take place next Thursday evening at the new rooms. Freight Blockade Raised. A land slide on the 8. F. & N., be- tween Northport and Bossburg, has tied up the freight of that road for several days. Yesterday the track was cleared in time to allow the passenger to come through. A transfer has been necessary for three days. The ‘Anaconds company works a great by | number of mines, and:almost any grade of ore carr. be-produted temporsrily.- Mr. Daly wires that the ontput -this month will be 15,000,000 pounds of copper, and January. 12,000,000, and it is barely pos- sible that this may,-be accomplished by working selected ores. Z THE VIRGINIA PAID FOR. Stock Sells at 12% Cente a‘ Share,- Which Puts a value of $125,000 on the Mine, George E, Pfunder. has lifted the bond on-the controlling interest.in the Vir- ginia mine. Several weeks ago he con- tracted for the big stock’ ‘interests’ in that company, of Patrick Clarke, John A. Finch and their associates. The price was 12}¢ cents pér. share, and there being 500,000 of capital stock, this would put a value on the mine’ of $62,- 500. Atthat time Mr. Pfunder paid one-third vance of the expiraticn of the option. A 6-cent assessment has been levied upon the stockholders, which will givo the new managenient a working’ capital of $80,000. It is their intention to push the work of development. The Virginia is an off-shoot of the old War Eagle Company. The original War Eagle Company owned the War Eagle, Iron Mask, Virginia and Poor- man claims. Under a plan of -reorgani- zation, each of the three claims was made the property basis of a seperate company, the original War Eagle gtock- holders receiving share for share in the new companies.
