We must abolish war.” Following his hour-long address, Roche fielded questions from the floor, and although he stressed Canada’s role in the global peace-making process, some were wary of the federal White Paper-on Canada's defente policy. When questioned on the national White Paper on defence, Roche said that there was a misunderstanding of Canada's, foreign policy and defence policy.
