From the south via Spokane, The Eureka Consolidated Mining’ Co, Capitalization $1,000,000. Shares, $1.00 Each. 500,000 Shares Treasury Stock. — This Company owns the Eureka and Eldorado Mining Claims | on the Colville Indian Reservation near the International Boundary Line between Rossland and Northport. They can bo examined or ine spected at any time by anyone. , All Individual Stock Pooled until January 1, 1899. Limited amount of the Treasury Stock is now being offered at -the very low price of 10 CENTS PER SHARE ‘tho proceeds of which . will be spent in developing the property of the company. For further information address or call upon shay J.C. Coe, Harry P. Jones, . PRESIDENT. BECRETARY. P.O. BOX 225,,"ROSSLAND, B. Cer ‘.t by the Pelle fe Norther and Columbia & Red Mountain railways, . Roasland has forty hotels, with bars, eating and lodging roome, and a dozen restaurants. There are threo weekly news- papers and two dailies. Al other branches of business are well represented, ‘Che popula- tion is tartously catimated from 6000 to 7 Board ae lodging at the ho- tels, $2 to $3 per day. Meals 25 to 50 centa. Furnished rooms, $2.50 to $7 per week. It is useless to write and ask . ifany particular business would pay here. Everybody must be his own judge and take his own chances, While there fs not work tor all who iaquire, most sober, indus- trious persons who really wish to work have so far been able to obtain it. ‘We would not advise any man to land here “broke” without friends, although many who have done so are doing well, This camp is now settling down on a business basis. The populace is engaged not only in working the mines and conducting the busi- ness of the town, but are buying, or bonding and developing min- ing property; buying and selling real estate; building houses for rental purposes, prospecting and staking prospectors. Many are here simply looking on in won- derment. We believe it will go on and on until jland can boast of a population of 50,000. After that it will probably settle down to a proposition of a pay roll but not for a few years. There are plenty of money here from all sections of the globe; but the principal investors are from the United States, with Canada largely interested. The history of the camp reads like a fairy tale, and the fabulous riches are scarcely excelled by the imaginary “King Solomon's Mines,” We will aoe attempt to discussthe mines in »aingle ar- ticle, aswe have been writing about them for nearly three years and have not been able to keep up with them. The ore ship- mentsspeak for themselves. ‘The town has won an enviable reputation for law and order, It is supplied with waterworks and electric lights. ‘The main street is graded and ten blocks are built up with two and three-story busi- ness houses, For turther information come and see for yourself, or subscrihe for the Damy or WEEKLY Becorp.
