MANY CASTLEGAR ENTRIES IN MUSICAL FESTIVAL Castlegar is going to be well the West Koot- enay Music Festival, to be held in Nelson, April 21 26 this year. Entries include: (1) The Junior High School choir, con- sisting of girls taking music in grades 7 and 8 — in 2 and 3 part singing. (2) The Senior Girls Choir consisting of all girls in grades 9, 10, 11 and 12, who are tak- ing music. (3) A Senior Choral Group, consisting of girls and boys from grades 9 to 12 who have been studying 3 and 4 part singing. This group will compete in the mixed choirs under 20 years. (4) The Glee Club — a group of students interested in music aS a hobby, and who practice once a week will enter the Senior High Choir section doing 3 part singing. (5) Junior mixed quartette consisting of Miss Nettlie Brod- man, soprano, Miss Lorraine Martini, alto, Mr. Bill Easton, tenor, Mr. Harry Killough, bass, will compete in the Junior mix- ed quartette section. All of these groups are under the direction of R. Graham, music teacher for the high school, The Castlegar Elementary schoo! is entering the Element- ary Choir under the direction of R. Sommers. These children are volunteers from grades 4, 5 and 6 and will sing two songs --one of which may be part sing- ing. In Castlegar itself, at least two other groups are entering.
