The Free Gold Variety Becoming More Abundant, A Rossland correspondent writes the Victoria Times as follows: The Centre Star management is pushing the work on its big property with a large force of men, Acrosscut ia being run through the big ore chute near the west end of the bigtunnel. This crosscut has been run fifty feet to-the north of the tunnel, and twenty feet to the south of it, or seventy-five feet altogether, and neither foot nor hanging wall has yet been found. This makes the ore body seven- ty-five feet wide up to date. The full width will not be known till the walls are found. It is not simply ledge mat- ter that this crosscut is being run in, but ore. The citizens on First #venue have been compltining about the raising of the sidewald by the city on that street after it had once been raised. The fact of the matter is that the sidewalk on the south side was first laid by the property owners, who never asked the city for the grade.
