The Rebels bombarded Rossland Jr. Warriors 11-1, Friday night in Castlegar, but shattered their previously-un- beaten record the following night with a 5-4 defeat against Trail Jr. Smokies in a tight contest. Rossland's only goal on * Friday was scored: in the. first period by Thomas Haley and from then on, it was Castlegar i all the way. Picking up goals for the Rebels was Gord Pace with three, John Makaroff and Ron Sherstobitoff with two each, ‘and singles by Dave Kirby, Bruno Tassone, Bruce Martin and Dan Walker. : Vern> Hanson: made 20 saves in the Rebels’ goal while Dan McFarland handled 50 shots fired at him in the Rossland net. Castlegar took 12 minor penalties to Rossland’s 8 and the teams were each assessed a five-minute major for fighting. The Rebels also received one game misconduct penalty. Members were well mixed, so that all one team from Trail or Castlegar were, not playing with their own members. Castlegar players were really off their game, but they made up for it by having a good time-and enjoying the fellow- ship. After the games, all par- ticipants and scorekeepers ad- journed 40 the Senior Citizens’ Centre where a delicious lunch was served.
