Six Lots Near the Y Not Considered With Favor. The school board has been working hard to secure a school site, but thus far their labora have not resulted in any- thing definite. Six lots near the Y track have been offered the board for a site, but for many reasons it does not think this s desirable site. One reason is that it is too near the railway track, as the children would be in constant danger of their lives. Families before moving to a town—especially a inining town—always inquire as to the condition of schools, before wishing to move. That the present school rooms are overcrowded is a notorious fact which no one will dispute. ACTORS VS. PRINTERS. The coming baseball game between the actors and printers is looked forward to with considerable interest. There are a number of good players among the typos in the city and they expect to carry off the honors. The actors will appear in “makeup,” but further than the grotestque costumes worn the game will not be burlesqued, —~— JUBILEE BALL. he Rossland band orchestra will give a Ju ilee ball in Dominion hall on the Ticketa, $1.00 evening of June 22, oMWe
