Haley-Schkwarok wedding;
couple to reside at coast

Vases of white gladioli and arrange-
ments of yellow and white roses provided the
altar setting for an early summer wedding of
Marnie Shkwarok and John Haley of St.
Monica’s Church in West Vancouver.

Rev, J. McNeil of Edmonton, an uncle of
‘the groom, celebrated the nuptial Mass with
Mnsgr. J.E. Brown as concelebrant. ~

The:bride is the daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. W. Shkwarok of West Vancouver and

Oborne ‘of Prince Rupert who sang “Ode to
Joy” accompanied by organist John Stigant.

bride wore a georgette and satin gown of her
own creation. The floor-length dress with
chapellength train and contour-shaped
waistline, featured French lace’ appliques
detailing the Queen Anne neckline, full-
length gathered sleeves, and hemline.

A dainty bandeau of lace and seed pearls
secured her. waist-length veil with lace trim.

* She carried a bouquet of white roses.

Floor-length gowns of lemon Quiana
featuring blousson bodices and shirred
waistlines with matching chiffon capes were

worn by the bride's sisters Joan, who was.

Apparently, our council
is behind closed doors about
the alternate access road.

As printed in last week's
Castlegar News, “‘an alter-
nate access route and a new
road network system was
being planned for the city."
Are you referring. to the
Ogtow Subdivision-Woodland
Drive? Are you referring to
our quiet residential area?

Are you saying that it will
be unsafe for the children to
play on the street (as all
residential children do) as
Woodland Drive has been
picked as the alternate access
toute?"

‘What will our houses be
assessed at?. Railway tracks
on one side and the access
toad on the other. Is council
prepared to pay the difference
in the value of our homes? Or,
better still, prepared to trade
homes so we once again can
enjoy a quiet neighborhood.

We think the whole sit-
uation is nonsense, We think
the planning is sneaky. Can
