Castlegar News June 15, 1986 Molz passes away Adolph Molz of Castlegar passed away June 10 at Mount St. Francis Hospital at the age of 87. Funeral service was held Friday at the Castlegar Fu- neral Chapel with Rev. Ted Bristow officiating. Burial was in Park Memorial Cem- etery Mr. Molz was born May 2, 1899 at Allmondshofen, Ger. many and came to Canada in 1927. He began working his way west by taking a job on COMMUNITY NEWS the railroad. In 1929 re settled in Rena- ta and worked as a logger and farmer until B.C. Hydro bought the land to build the Keenleyside Dam. It was in the 1950s that he moved into Castlegar. He is survived by relatives in Ger- many and many friends here in Castlegar. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Castlegar Funeral Chapel. Castlegar Hospice Society Annual General Meeting 7:30 p.m. — Monday, June 16 participate in the service, the day's events were off toa joyous beginning. Organist was the bride's uncle, George Bourchier of Rossland. To the strains of Purcell’s Trumpet Voluntary in D the bride, wearing the cream satin wedding gown worn by her grandmother, the late Tannis 8. Killough over half a century earlier, entered the church on the arm of her grandfather, Joseph Killough of Castlegar. The veil, of softly cascading ivory-colored lace, had been worn by the groom's mother, Jocelyn Fisher, and had been in her family for years. Attending the bride was Leslie Downing of Trail, wearing a burgundy satin-taffeta gown; both carried bouquets of small pink roses. The groom wore a charcoal tuxedo with dusky rose cummerbund. Best man was Don Irvine, with ushers, John Fisher and Mike Flesher, all of Vancouver. During the service, sisters of the bride and groom read portions of the service. Delia and Siobhan Downing sang Up_ Where We Belong, with piano and guitar Pp by George Bi and Paul Fisher. Following the service, all drove down to the Kettle River, where amid sunshine and cheers the bride and bridesmaid were gallantly lifted into two Voyageur canoes for the trip to Midway, 16 kilometres downstream. For this event the groom, an Olympic gold medalist in kayaking, sat back sipping champagne with his bride, while his former Olympic partner, Alwynn Morris, and 10 to 12 other paddlers in each canoe skilfully sped each craft through the swift water of the Kettle. The newlyweds returned to the coast Monday, where the groom is employed between university semesters organizing clubs and coaching teams of young people across the province in flatwater racing and the bride, a native of Castlegar, as reporter for the Ridge- Meadow Times newspaper in Maple Ridge.
