ANOTHER Lieutenant Peary Will Start for the Far North on July 8. New York, June 2.—Lieut. Robert E. Peary, who recently received a five years’ leave of absence from his duties in the navy for the purpose of making another attempt to reach the: North Pole, will start north on July 8, making a preliminary journey, the sole object of which will be to make arrangements for the final trip, which will be begun in July, 1898. Lieut. Peary will first pick out a ship for the Preliminary, voyage. He will select one of the ‘St. ‘Tohn’s sealers, and haveit ready to leave Boston between July 5and 8. At Boston the sealer will take on board a store of sup- plies. Lieut. Peary willbe accompanied by two or more scientific parties, which will go north with him to some point near EMtelville bay. One of the parties will be conducted by Prof. G. Barton, of the Massachusetts’ Institute of Technol logy.
