For Jchn Wesley Miiler

Funeral services were held
Monday morning from the
chapel of the Castlegar Funeral
Home for John Wesley Miller,
aged 67, a resident of Blueberry
Creek who died Thursday at
the Castlegar and District
Hospital.

Born July 11, 1911 in
Barons, Alta., he came to B.C.
and Salmon Arm in 1917,
receiving his education and
marrying in that community,
The family farmed in the
Salmon Arm district until 1955
when he took up employment
on road construction,

He was a heavy duty
equipment operator and, latter-
ly, foreman on the road jobs
where he was employed.

Among the highways on
which he worked were the
Kootenay Skyway, Blueberry-
Paulson and the Castlegar-
Salmo link. He was employed
on the latter project at the time
of his illness which necessitated
his retirement.

tors approved Saturday a re-
vised: bylaw requiring a $100
fee for each rezoning appli-
cation to the regional district.
"The bylaw, amended to
provide a $25 refund to ‘an
applicant whose rezoning appli-
cation is withdrawn or fails to
go to public hearing, received
three readings and was for-
warded to the B.C. lieutenant-
governor for cabinet approval.

A Victoria man has been
charged with failing to yield the
right-of-way following an acci-
dent Friday on Columbia Ave-
nue at the ferry ramp.

Robert Rafter was charged
when his 1978 Volkswagon sus-
tained $1,000 after being in
collision with a 1974 Dodge
driven by Gail Simpson of
Robson,

The Volkswagon was
northbound on Columbia Ave-
nue and the Dodge, which
sustained an estimated $350
damage, was southbound, com-
ing off the Castlegar Ferry
when the incident occurred.
