The British Columbia Lung
Association’s annual Christmas Seal
campaign to fight lung disease is now
under way, says Castlegar-area chair-
man Bunny Charters of the Castlegar
Rotary Anns

Charters says the 1989 goal for this
region is the most ambitious ever —
$4,000 — an increase of four per cent
over last year. The purpose of the
campaign is to heighten public
awareness about lung health and to
raise funds for lung disease research
and health education

‘Lung cancer, bronchitis, em-
physema and asthma, and their related
causes — air pollution, smoking and
environmental hazards — are a few of
the many areas of lung health being
studied by B.C. Lung Association
scientists supported by Christmas Seal
