The Nestea Canadian Jun-
ior Tennis Club Championship
for our area will be playing in
Fruitvale Saturday and in Trait
on Sunday. More than 200
tennis clubs across the country
will be participating in a junior
national club championship this
summer.

Locally, regionally, provin-
cially’ and. finally nationally,
C.L.7.A. clubs will play a team
tenni ries to decide the
national champion.

Each club team will be
comprised of two girls and two
boys, plus two alternates, all
under the age of 18. Each round
of competition will consist. of
two each. of+ boys and girls

singles, the same for doubles
ard a single mixed doubles
mateh for a total of seven
matches.

The winners this weekend
will go on to Kelowna on May

- 29 to compete there.

Charged After.
Disturbance :

Five persons were charged
Saturday with mischief and
obstructing a police officer in
Grand Forks after a’ disturb-
ance at the home'of J. J.
Werigin, leader of an orthodox
Doukhobor sect. ©

Police said several persons
were chanting and singing
outside the residence and re-
fused to leave when requested.

Charged are George Kina-
kin, 19; Norecn Ostrikolf, 20;
Paul Chernoff, 18; and Harvey
Chernoff, 18, all of Grescent
Valley, and Lena Poznikoff, 17,
of Krestova, :

A juvenile was taken into
