London, May 18.—A special dis- patch from Hyderabad, noting the rapid spread of cholera, says: “In one division no fewer than forty-five famine camps have been attacked by the pestilence. The most virulent type is at Gueriat, where many thousands have per- ished. In the Godhra camp alone there have been thousands of vic- tims. Further ‘confirmation of the various reports of the relief was re- ceived today in a dispatch from Lorenzo .Marques, under today’s ig telegraphed her congratu- lations to Col. Baden-Powell and to her sister, Lady Sarah Wilson. She informed Col. Baden-Powell that the fund for Mafeking, for = which she had made aun urgent appeal on May 12, al- ready amounted:to 7,000,000. As hundreds of loaded _ trains journeyed from the suburbs to the- city, their occupants kept up a roar of cheering,-which was echoed by the occupants of the decorated houses along the route. The Streets Blocked. From dawn the crowds swelled until the frequented thoroughfares were impassable and vehicles had 1o be stopped. No attempt was made to restrain pent-up feelings. London, May 19.—According. to the latest story going the rounds, “Bobs” fights on ‘‘Batholivers.” These are a new-fangled form’ of ration, but a simple-looking biscuit made at Bath, ‘the first recipe for which is credited to the celebrated Dr. Oliter, a friend of Pope and other eighteenth century notabili- ties. ‘‘Bobs” apparently took out a large amount of these, and since has sent for more,which were taken by Lady Roberts. D., also “resigned- at a meeting held at- Grand Forks on Tuesday. Richard Plewman, A. J. Macdonald and J.
